Stata Student License

Students currently enrolled at degree-granting institutions may purchase Stata at the prices listed below. Proof of student status (a copy of your university ID card) is required.

Student Prices

Prof+ Plan licenses and discounts extend to all faculty and staff at participating universities. Setting up a Stata Prof+ Plan at your university is easy. There are no contracts to sign and no minimum purchase requirements. View our participating institutions and purchase online, or inquire about a Prof+ Plan for your university.

Stata 16 is available to download. Credentials, including your license code(s) and serial number(s) will be sent to you by email when your purchase is completed.

The College's license for Stata, which is available on the PCs in public computer labs and on VLab1 is a student learning lab license. This means that you can use it in class for assignments as a teacher or a student, but you cannot use it for research.

Stata annual and multi-year licenses offer users a lower upfront cost and ensure that you stay on the current version of Stata.
